Tomorrow (19 October) is a festival named Karvachauth which is celebrated by Hindus in India. It is a one day festival in which married Hindu women fast from sunrise to moonrise for the safety and longevity of their husbands. The festival falls on the fourth day after the full moon, in the Hindu lunisolar calender month of Kartik.
Hindu women fast the whole day until the moon arises. During this long period they even don't drink a glass of water and not even take a bite of food. It is after the moonrise that they worship the moon god and then drink a glass of water by their husband's . It shows love and affection of women for their husband's. The women also take a special 'Karvachauth Gift' from their husband's. In this way they celebrate this auspicious festival.
